1 Crystal Song

From outdoor rock climbing, ocean freediving, to backcountry and downhill mountain skiing — Mother Nature has never ceased to pique Crystal’s curiosity and fascination. In the urban world her multipotentiality is explored in aerial skills, acroyoga, latin hustle, and pole dancing. She believes in active movement as a crucial factor for her health and wellbeing, which is the foundation as to where she can achieve her goals — to leverage her skill sets and talents to positively impact the areas that are important to her: climate sustainability, women’s empowerment, healthcare, and education. Please look forward to getting to know Crystal!

 

2 Rachel Xiang

Rachel Xiang is from the water towns of Jiangnan, China, described by those around her as gentle yet determined. She has been studying piano, chess, calligraphy, and oil painting since childhood, embracing life with courage and a sense of exploration. Currently, she is steadfastly exploring the path of an international lawyer, crafting her own story of 'Legal Chic' between Shanghai and Los Angeles. She loves the stage, cherishes her presence in front of the camera a splash of color for photographers-and plays the leading role in the stories of directors at the Beijing Film Academy. She says, 'If life is a book, let's write a more splendid one.' Grateful for everyone's support, she is Rachel Xiang.

 

3 Vivian Zhang

Hello everyone! My name is Vivian Zhang. Growing up Chinese, I felt most connected to my roots through the foods I enjoy with my loved ones. Each dish has its own unique story, but they all blend together so perfectly on the table to share. I want to encourage our young generation, that our differences are what makes us beautiful, and once combined, we become a strong, unique, unbreakable community. I would like to be Miss LA Chinatown to echo the voices of the Asian community and further integrate our young generations into Chinatown. Today, I am an innovator, a curious George, a dancer, a Yelp Elite foodie, and an adventure seeker. Thank you, and have an amazing evening.

 

4 Michelle Situ

Michelle Situ, raised in the vibrant neighborhoods of Chinatown and Lincoln Heights, draws from the cultural richness of her childhood. Fond memories of savoring almond cookies with her mother amidst bustling streets inspired her passion for baking. Immersed in LA's' flavorful and cultural tapestry, she hopes to open a bakery. Fueled by a proclivity for numbers and desserts, Michelle graduated from CSUF in accounting to strengthen her business acumen to pursue her dream. In every delicacy, she strives to bring people together, breaking bread and building bridges to create warm and comforting memories as it did for her. Michelle eagerly joins Miss Chinatown Los Angeles, embracing its uplifting community platform for individuals to advocate their passions. She aspires to contribute to the diversity and connectivity of this community.

 

5 Peonia Chan

Peonia Chan, born and raised in Los Angeles (South Bay), now attends UCLA as a senior majoring in Economics and minoring in Asian Humanities. She grew up in a Cantonese and Mandarin speaking household though lost grip of it throughout the years - upon college, a life-long aspiration to become more in tune with her culture and language ignited within Peonia. After graduation, she will continue her professional career with j.P. Morgan Private Bank at their Century City office. In her free time, you can find Peonia spending time with friends and family, discovering new local eats, or attending pilates classes!

 

6 Audrey Jiang

Audrey Jiang, a passionate university student at Cal State Fullerton, dedicates herself to piano performance while simultaneously juggling 6 part time jobs as a full-time student. Her commitment extends beyond academics, as she actively engages in volunteer work, contributing to the community through her involvement in different clubs and organizations. Amidst her academic pursuits, Audrey has garnered numerous scholarships and awards, both from her community college and university. She is also eagerly pursuing a bachelor's degree in piano performance, she approaches her studies with determination, aspiring to achieve perfection in her performances on stage. In the fall of 2023, Audrey showcased her dedication in piano in a well-received junior recital.

 

7 Elaine Ouyang

7 Elaine Ouyang

Elaine Ouyang received her Bachelor's in International Business from UC San Diego, and is currently a third-year law student at the University of San Diego. As a recipient of four scholarships, Elaine not only strives for academic excellence, but also has strong legal experience working for the legal department of a private equity firm. After graduating from law school, Elaine plans to work as a business law attorney, providing legal services on business information, mergers and acquisitions, corporate litigation, and tax-related issues. During her spare time, Elaine enjoys playing chess, singing, traveling, going to movies and making arts and crafts.

 

8 Charlotte Peng

Charlotte Peng is a 19-year-old senior studying Communications and Public Relations at Loyola Marymount University. As a first-generation student, she will be graduating college at the age of 20, and she hopes to attend graduate school at USC Marshall next. Having achieved the esteemed title of Ist Runner-Up for Miss Asia USA last year, Charlotte's experience in the pageant became a catalyst for self-discovery. This transformative journey spurred her to reestablish a connection with her Chinese heritage, leading Charlotte to dedicate her platform to supporting Chinese Americans going through the assimilation process, and the pressing need to combat COVID- 19 stigmas.

 

9 Saerlaith Anying Dunn

Saerlaith Anying Dunn was raised by her mom alongside her two sisters, just ten minutes outside of Chinatown, in San Marino, California. Her many talents include singing, acting, dancing and sewing. During school she took leadership roles in her favorite clubs; Mock Trial, Thespians and Chapel Players. She is also a decade-long member of Girl Scouts having earned her bronze, silver and gold awards. She began volunteering with rabbits at the age of 8, but more recently she expanded her efforts by collaborating with a veterinarian to create animal care video guides specifically for children. She hopes her work will eventually put a stop to animal neglect, testing and mistreatment.

 

10 Ashley Yao

Ashley Yao is currently working as a transportation engineering and planning consultant. She received her Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and studied for a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from University of California, Los Angeles. As a transportation consultant, she conducts technical work and public outreach for local government agencies in the Southern California region. She's passionate about how her work leads to improving safety outcomes and produces infrastructure solutions for local communities. Outside of work, she enjoys singing, dancing gaming, reading, and playing tennis. Growing up, Ashley's family moved several times eventually settling down in Riverside. In all of these places, the community that kept her grounded was the Chinese community. Ashley is honored to participate in Miss Los Angeles Chinatown as it is the perfect opportunity for her to give back to the community that raised her.

 

11 Meilee Stern Wang

Meilee Stern Wang is a Chinese, Vietnamese, and Ashkenazi Jewish American who grew up in Los Angeles County. Her technical aptitude led her to a bachelor's in biomedical engineering from UC Irvine. When she is not working as a medical device quality engineer, she is likely enjoying a story through video games or learning how to sew. This fall, she plans to study computer engineering in graduate school. She enjoys guiding others through challenges such as searching for engineering jobs and finding happiness after heartbreak. Her purpose for participating in this pageant is to represent Chinese of mixed heritage and larger bodies. Additionally, she hopes to amplify her goals of promoting empathy and supporting local libraries.

 

12 Kathryn Yip

Kathryn Yip is currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Kathryn believes Community Service is an important life pillar since the work being done addresses our societal needs. Kathryn is enthusiastic to participate in Miss Los Angeles Chinatown as it is a perfect opportunity to advocate for her platform of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through her voice and personal life journey. Through her professional hotel career and years of community service, she enjoys connecting with people from all diverse cultures and perspectives. Kathryn is a firm believer that trave and cuisine are activities that bring people together by fostering mutual respect and educational knowledge.

 

13 Grace Ellzey

Grace was born in Shenzhen and adopted as a baby where she's lived in LA ever since. Although Grace never learned Chinese, it never stopped her from watching Chinese TV shows on YouTube with her older sister and eating at her favorite Chinese restaurant. Since her young age, Grace has loved Chinese culture and cuisine, being proud of her birth country and where she's from. When a friend recommended that she compete in Miss Los Angeles Chinatown, she felt it would be an honor, to represent not just where she came from, but the thousands of children just like her who are adopted from China.

15 Esther Ho

Esther Ho is currently a small business owner and full-time caretaker for her father. She holds a bachelor's in English literature and language with a minor in TEFL, as well as a master's ir Linguistics. She graduated with honors and received distinguished awards from each respective program. During her graduate studies, she spotlighted Chinese Americans ir academia by conducting an acoustic phonetic analysis on the community's unique language variety, which awarded her the Best Comprehensive Paper of the 2023 graduating class. She believes in the importance of weaving our cultural tapestry into the fabric of society and leaving our mark on the world as leaders of change.
